Jumpin' Chips Games

Created by teachers, this game is different every time you play. Running out of clever ways to teach and practice math skills? Kids love a change from workbooks and this game will give them lots of math practice. Let kids challenge each other or you to a game of strategy and math. The board looks like a checkerboard but can be played from 4 sides or 2 sides. Chips are cardboard circles 1.25" round with a math problem on one side and the answer on the other. Yellow shaded chips are for facts 1, 2, and 3. Green is 4, 5, and 6. Blue is 7, 8, and 9. Purple is 10, 11, 12. Blank chips give you the option of including more complex problems or adding more of those you wish to practice a bit extra. If you purchase several games, you can practice multiple skills all at once. Instructions show 5 different games you can play with 1 to 4 players. Your goal is to collect the most chips by the end of the game. I like the variety this adds to math practice. Use it as a warm-up or as a reward. Make it a learning center activity. Kids may want to play just for the fun of it. ~ Sara
