This calendar is perfect for teaching the importance of keeping an up-to-date schedule, but it is also fun to use as it has different shapes to add to the board. The calendar is one-sided and its easy wipe clean. The board is very lightweight, and convenient to hold; there is no hassle to hang or to set on a table. The set comes with an assortment of stars and arrows, along with individual months. The size of the stars and arrows vary some, however, they are about 3" each. The board is 14 ¾ x19" in total size. The individual day size is 3 ¾". The best kinds of utensils to use are dry erase markers. Markers sold separately. ~Kyce
