Product Description:

How can you improve an already great Bear Park? This expansion gives players a larger park plus two mini expansion modules. The first module adds Grizzly Bear habitats and houses to the park and increases the end-game goal to a fifth park area with an exit tile. Also included are four additional scoring tokens, which add 17-20 points for completing a park area. The second expansion adds monorails, which allow players to add monorail towers to green areas and join them with monorail cars that reward them with end-game points. Another addition is six new types of advanced goal tiles for the advanced version of this game. For 2-4 players with 30-45 minutes of playing time. The Barenpark core game is required to play.

As a home-schooled child I learned to read with the old Modern Curriculum Press Plaid Phonics course When considering curriculum for my 6 year-old son I was thrilled to learn this course is still being produced now in full-color but with the same variety of exercises to maintain my sons interest and challenge him to increase his reading and writing skills I cannot say enough good things about this course What I love most about the MCP Phonics books is their ease of use (the teachers manual is not necessary) and they cover a lot of material (reading spelling phonetic awareness words in context etc) in a fun natural manner with adequate practice and review that is not monotonous In attempting to keep our states requirements I had added a separate language arts course this year but I ended up discontinuing it after one month when it drove my son to tears by teaching him to read solely through the use of pronunciation symbols Convinced this had squashed the joy of reading right out of him I quickly realized we were learning the same skills through this MCP Phonics book minus the symbols tears and confusion I immediately discarded the language arts course and stuck to what was working best for us Now we are truly enjoying Phonics Level B and my son has demonstrated a rekindled love for learning to read My only complaint is there has been quite an increase in the amount of writing from Level A to Level B Since my son is technically in 1st Grade (not 2nd Grade as this book is recommended for) he did seem overwhelmed by so much writing especially the fill-in-the-blank sentences so I simply use my computer to print out the list of words beforehand and have him cut and paste them in the sentences This year I have added the MCP Practice Readers They are not necessary for this course but I highly recommend them as I have seen my sons reading skills improve dramatically after just two months of combining the phonics workbook with the coordinating readers
