I'm new to homeschooling and want as much help with planning and prep work as I can get, so I'm inclined to buy all the teacher guides to the programs I choose.

Does this book include recommended middle school books for each genre?
A shopper on May 21, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, there are not any book recommendations . This book gives you a layout/plan to apply to each genre. It is kept open ended to apply to any and all books for various grade levels.
Does this give any literature suggestions??
A shopper on Aug 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: No, it doesn't. That's the cool thing ! You can use any literature you have for each genre. For example, my daughter is reading Wild Mustangs, a non fiction book, and all of the work she gives, can be used for any non-fiction book (main idea, etc). My children really like it.

Fit our needs well
We are enjoying working from this curriculum. We love that we are able to use it with books that we can choose, it’s motivating for my son to have some choice. I have 1 student, but can see how the approach would work well for multiple students at varying levels. Materials are well organized and lessons well written, minimal planning required for the teacher.
My son is in 3rd grade so we are working out of the 2nd/3rd level and it is challenging for him, but in a good way. I don’t think he could have handled it in 2nd grade, though. There isn’t much space for writing in the workbook, so I sometimes have to have him dictate his answers to me. There are 3 choices for end of unit projects, one choice requires another material, so be prepared to buy that also if you want to use those options.
