The vocabulary in these mysteries is taken from the Sat's most difficult word lists and top look-ups for Merriam Webster online dictionary.

Category Description for Critical Thinking Detective - Vocabulary

Vocabulary Books 1 and 2 include 12 cases each through which you work using the clues and lists of vocabulary words. These are challenging scenarios that offer the words within a context without ever giving you the definition, so have a dictionary handy. Each case is two pages – the first page tells the story and offers clues; the second page lists new vocabulary with fill-in-the-blank sentences. Each activity incorporates 18 to 24 new vocabulary words that are used to find the right suspect. Find the culprit in each case as you analyze the words and determine the correct use, based on their application within the story and clues. The vocabulary in each case will challenge your student's logic and strengthen their vocabulary skills.
