Well-Ordered Language Level 3 is the third part in a four-level series that demonstrates that grammar is an engaging study that appeals to children's natural curiosity about words and language. It presents grammar in a clear, orderly way, while simultaneously seeking to cultivate children's wonder of language with instruction in the context of narrative and language, attractive illustrations, and samples taken from classic children's literature and poetry. Through Well-Ordered Language's unique, creative, and orderly method of analyzing the grammatical functions of the parts of speech, students will find the mastery of grammar achievable, meaningful, and delightful.

The carefully crafted pedagogy of this book helps students learn the mechanics of grammar while they also see the power of language unfolding before them as they learn to gather and arrange words to express their thoughts clearly and accurately. Students will not merely be able to identify the parts of a sentence, but also will understand how words behave in a sentence. This book is designed so that teachers and students actively engage with each other and with the concepts in each lesson by means of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Learning is reinforced by the singing of lively chants and songs that correspond to each chapter.

The previous level, Well-Ordered Language Level 2,aided students in mastering the eight parts of speech, along with prepositional phrases; compound elements; subject, object, possessive, interrogative, and relative pronouns; compound sentences; and relative clauses. Any student who has mastered these concepts should be prepared for Well-Ordered Language Level 3. In Book 3A, students will review and strengthen skills already learned while also being introduced to several new concepts. Students will also continue to develop their understanding of diagramming sentences, visualizing the grammatical relationships within increasingly complex sentences.

Not needed if you are decent at grammar
I rarely buy the teacher's manual. My one exception tends to be grammar books, because it can be fairly complicated to check over the diagrams by hand. So I went ahead and bought this teacher's manual for grading the sentence diagrams. I am half way through the book, and have only consulted this book twice. Perhaps I should reserve this review until the end, because it looks like the sentences will get more complicated eventually. But at least so far, the sentences are so short that I can look it over and see all the mistakes right away. I will admit to being good at English, and having a good grasp of diagramming myself. If you struggle with diagramming, this book would be useful. But if you are good with diagramming yourself, this is a head's up that there isn't much overly complicated in this course. (By the way, I really like this course, and think they lay things out well. I love the incremental advancement and constant review of this program! This three star review is only because I personally did not need anything more than the student book for this level of grammar. It does not reflect on the course as a whole.)
