Bob Books: Sight Words First Grade Set (Stage 2)
Set includes ten 12-page books, and 30 two-sided flash cards. Illustrations are simple and offer clues to the story on the page, and words are limited to short-vowel words that are three to five letters in length. 30 sight words per set (3 new sight words per book).
Sight words, or high frequency words, are words that appear repeatedly in your children's reading material. Knowing these words "by sight" is essential for reading speed and comprehension. Consistent short vowels and simple stories mean children sound out (decode) most of the story, and must memorize only three sight words per book. Your child will continue to build confidence and sight word fluency, with Bob Books Sight Words - First Grade.
These ten books provide 30 more sight words, in slightly longer stories, to build confidence and success in the progressing reader.
Bob Books have been helping children learn to read for many years, and now the newest in the Bob Books family will help your child learn up to 60 new sight words. Sight words are common words that children see in their reading material, sometimes referred to as 'high frequency' words.
Each set includes ten 12-page books, printed in black and white with one accent color, and 30 two-sided flash cards. Illustrations are simple and offer clues to the story on the page, and words are limited to short-vowel words that are three to five letters in length. Only three new sight words are introduced in each book, for a total of 30 sight words per set. The two-sided flash cards have the sight word on one side and the illustration as found in the book on the reverse - a great tool for practicing the new words. Through the repetition and visual clues, your child will be able to say, "I read the whole book!"® ~ Donna
