Product Description:

Whether your children have smaller hands that struggle to hold the original sized pencil grips or an older child who is not quite ready to write without the support pencil grips provide, this alternative pencil grip may fit your needs perfectly. Measuring a petite ¾" in length and nearly ¾" in diameter, this soft rubber grip slides easily into place on your pencil and is adaptable for right- or left-handed writers. Colors vary; if you order more than one, we will assort. ~Deanne
Category Description for Pencil Grips:

When you hear "pencil grip," you probably think of those hard plastic, prism-shaped gadgets. That's exactly what this is NOT. We've selected this particular grip because of its many beneficial features. First of all, it's flexible, allowing it to fit over any size pencil, pen or craft knife. It's soft and rubbery instead of unyielding plastic. Molded especially to fit fingers comfortably, there is only one correct way to hold it. Useable for either right- or left-handed kids, sides are marked with "R" and "L" to ensure kids hold it correctly. ~ Stephanie

This type of grip helped my daughter write better. My son has tried other grips with little success, so we are hoping these will work for him also.

I want to help my little learners develop a good pencil grip from the beginning. My oldest has struggled to hold his pencil the right way, so I'm hoping these grippers will help my second and third children get off to the right start. This kind of gripper came with a reading/phonics program we use called Sound Beginnings.

These are better for my kids than the larger grips. The larger ones were harder to get on and off pencil, and were cumbersome to use.

Can this be used for left-handed students? If so, do they go a different direction on the pencil?
User on Sep 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they can be used for right handed and left handed students! My son is left handed. The big indention is for the thumb and pointer finger-you can flip it over or turn it until it feels right for your child. We love these and the price can't be beat!!

Training Pencil Grip
We have six children and all of our children have been right handed until our fourth child, he is left handed and we use these! We have used these will all of them and my left handed child can use the same ones. These are great to show our child how his fingers should be placed on the pencil!

Easy to use and have transformed my daughters’ strange (very uncomfortable looking) grip to proper after using it for a few weeks. My only complaint is that sometimes they slide down toward the tip. I noticed that mostly with round pencils (vs the standard/regular #2 ones).

Good for little and big hands
My six year old left handed son was very reluctant to use these at first. The first day his handwriting was messy, and he was complaining. BUT, after only one week no more complaints, his writing has dramatically improved, his hand no longer hurts, and he's no longer placing his thumb way across his index finger. The only downside is they do slip down the pencil. I fixed this by adding some of that blue gummy stuff for hanging pictures to the bottom of the grip -no more slip, and I just take it off to sharpen, then reapply. I love these, and I'm back to buy more. I've used them myself, and they are comfortable for me to write with. I learned to write with the old school triangle grips, but these are so much better.

Perfect for Preschool/Kinder
These quickly and easily taught my 4-yr-old how to correctly hold a pencil. I put them on the short little Handwriting Without Tears pencils. Perfect.

These do not hold onto the pencil after a few days I purchased two of them Both started to slide up and down the pencil after just two days We do not use them because it is very annoying But just two days of this reinforcement has helped my son's grip of the pencil improve Size wise they are perfect for small hands (including adults) Since they are so cheap I would probably buy them again- just buy a few more so he could have the proper positioning for a while longer

I have tried several different pencil grips for my 4 year old daughter This is the easiest one for her to use Others are too big and uncomfortable for her This small one fits her fingers is affordable and does the job!
