Description

Author of the first Wordly Wise series and The Reading Game, Kenneth Hodkinson brings yet another well done resource to the educational market for young students to appreciate. If you are familiar with the Reading Game and enjoyed the content, you will love this sequel designed for kids who are actively reading (2nd and 3rd graders) or for older struggling readers! If you have not used the Reading Game, children can still enjoy this resource to practice and gain confidence in their reading. The download comes with 6 storybooks, worksheets, and a “Naughty Forty" list. Children will cherish the storybooks, each about 20 pages long and telling a moral or great tale. The worksheets include comprehension and creative writing exercises. Each storybook contains a “Naughty Forty" list (challenging words found within the story). The books need to be taught in order because each book will assume the child is familiar with the previous “Naughty Forty" list. You can print these challenging words on cardstock and help your child become familiar with them before reading the story. Each word is in bold, with the sentence it appears in underneath. The program can be used on an IPad, computer, or printed out on paper or cardstock. There are free downloadable resources (check our website) including instructions, answer keys, assessment worksheets, reading fluency sheets, and a complete “Naughty Forty" word list. This easy-to-use reading program strengthens children's reading ability and encourages young students to enjoy the journey of reading!
