My 6th grader loves to write and loves to read mysteries. I thought she might be interested in learning how to write a mystery book.

I can't say enough about the excitement this book brought to our writing this year My teens are not generally enthusiastic about writing but this project caught their attention I used this book with two daughters and a son ages 13 15 and 17 I copied the student pages on a different color for each and put them in a pocket folder I had intended for us to do each page together since they are interesting and the teacher pages have good points to add But it turned out that their ideas didn't necessarily come in order and they enjoyed filling out the pages on their own We used the "First Edition Bookbinding Kits" (available from this website) to make our finished stories into keepsakes and this added to the appeal of the project I liked this book because it inspired a son that is a reluctant writer and because it helped each one get ideas in areas they wouldn't have thought of on their own I plan to get other titles from this series
