What grade is this for?
BEST ANSWER: Short answer: 6th or 7th grade.
Long answer: I take an informal approach to grammar in elementary school, just briefly introducing parts of speech. I like to use this All-in-One English workbook in either 6th or 7th grade to do a more in-depth study on the parts of speech. I follow this workbook with Easy Grammar Plus. Together, those resources provide all the grammar instruction my kids need. We keep up with grammar skills in the high school years by using Easy Grammar Ultimate.

We used this book for our 7th grader It goes thru all 8 parts of speech and addresses Capitalization and Punctuation Each lesson begins with a very short explanation of the part of speech and a few examples Then students are to practice by working thru exercises There are 3-5 short exercises per lesson Students can write in the book or on a separate sheet of paper However many of the instructions are circle or underline the part of speech being taught so writing in the book is definitely easier After the part of speech has been taught there is a review For example a student will study adjectives There are 5 lessons teaching different types of adjectives followed by a review of the 5 lessons Then the student moves on to the next part of speech Adjectives are not brought up again until the final assessment Answers are given in the back of the text for each lesson There were a few times where the answer my student gave according to what we had learned in the lesson seemed correct only to have it be incorrect in the answer key We were unable to resolve why the answers differed This would be good as a SUPPLEMENT for extra practice on troublesome areas You could use it solely for grammar if you add in review of topics previously covered
