Just the facts, ma'am. That's about what you get with this series. Each book begins with an assessment test so that you can gauge a student's understanding; this allows you to spend time and effort only where necessary. The bulk of the book is devoted to short practice exercises, which are preceded by simple explanations of concepts. A final assessment test shows how much the student has learned. Answer key is included in the back of the book. An excellent choice for remedial or brush-up work as needed. Approx. 35 pgs.

Long answer: I take an informal approach to grammar in elementary school, just briefly introducing parts of speech. I like to use this All-in-One English workbook in either 6th or 7th grade to do a more in-depth study on the parts of speech. I follow this workbook with Easy Grammar Plus. Together, those resources provide all the grammar instruction my kids need. We keep up with grammar skills in the high school years by using Easy Grammar Ultimate.
