Forge your way to be the first to secure the most valuable treasure in this strategy game that changes each time you play it. Publisher Description:

Finally! After a long boat trip, the treasure hunters have reached the island of Karuba and can go on the hunt for hidden treasures. Who will lead their expedition team along the smartest route through the jungle trails, pay attention to the other players and keep an eye out for gold and crystals along the way? The most important thing is to start running in time! Hurry up and be the first to reach the temples to collect the most valuable treasures. But be careful! Many paths have dead ends- so you need to be patient and attentive in order to discover the best way through the jungle. The expedition team with the most valuable treasures wins the game. I played once and loved it. Just my husband and I can play or two others can join us (grandchildren!). I like that it is simple to learn, every game is different because you build a map path as you go, it does not take hours to play, and it requires critical thinking but not so deep that your head hurts. Children too young to play on their own can be involved by helping another player and still feel part of the fun.

very interesting and original mechanic
i've played this game with an eight year old, a ten year old, and a thirteen year old. they all enjoyed it, as do i. the interesting mechanic is that more than any other game i can think of, the game is 100% egalitarian--you all start on the same footing and there is nothing that anyone can do to interfere with how each player may proceed. you do influence other players by being the first to complete a path to one of the temples, thereby reducing the number of points available and therefore perhaps pushing them towards a different strategy, but there's no undercutting each other and no squabbling. very good family game!
