Accompanying this set is a 32-pg. instruction manual providing step-by-step instructions, tips, background information and explanations for a wide array of experiments. Activities include getting familiar with the microscope and microscope basics, plant cells, cells in the cross-section, animal cells and "guinea pigs", and many others designed to give children an overview of the possibilities in the world of microscopic science. Kit includes 1 prepared slide, 4 blank slides, cover slips, tweezers, needle, pipette, 2 sample containers, petri dish with lid, and a microscope. The microscope ocular lens is adjustable 4x to 15x magnification power, which when combined with the included 3 objective lens will provide a total magnification power of 60x to 600x. It also has a battery powered light. There are a few items that need supplied including 2 AA batteries, a bottle cork, sand or gravel, an onion, aquatic plants, waterweed, pine needles, raw meat and other household items.
