Provides about 30 straightforward and brief geography lessons in a colorful format - perfect as a after co-op workbook. Copyright is quite old - but latitude and longitude, scales and map keys are the same now as then.

These Maps Charts Graphs books are great! My homeschooler does them on her own. She's up to letter E, and she can do them by herself. She's 9 years old.

My children and I really like the MCP maps, charts and graphs books. I like that it teaches things that my children will be using some day. Practical and inexpensive for the quality.

I have found these books to be one of the most complete mapping books that are easy to understand. It covers the basics in a way that my children can relate to and I don't need to have any additional graphs or atlas' to use them.

I appreciate that this series teaches map, chart and graph reading skills in easy lessons that don't overwhelm my kids. We can add it to our week without it seeming like another major subject.

Love ALL of them except E
Except for this version, number E, I would rate all the "Maps and Charts" books as as off the charts. This version, E, however, has much poorer quality paper, and print and visuals are fuzzy and shoddy. The questions aren't that great. The only thing I can think is that someone other than the original person wrote this one. Thumbs down.

Great little workbooks
I purchased all the books in this series to be used as independent work for my kids. I feel it helps fill in the gaps that is missing from other curriculums. We've been using the books for several years now, and the kids have built up their confidence and sharpened their writing, and reading comprehension skills using these workbooks.

Another form of "reading" lessons
I bought this as summer work, as our school year consists mostly of reading living books, drawing maps of what we read about and "map drill." This workbook is more like teaching another form of reading. As a byproduct, it may also expand my children's ability to narrate their reading via maps, charts, graphs, timelines, cartoons or illustrations. They have enjoyed doing a few pages every day for a change of pace.

Other notes: 1) If you do standardized testing, this book will acquaint your children with the basic skills covered in the tests. 2) The answer key is in the back of the same book. 3) There is also a basic atlas with 10 maps that might be kept for future reference.
