Product Description:
Flamingos, Penguins, Arctic Foxes, Kangaroos and Meerkats, oh my! In New York Zoo, players construct an animal park by adding different shaped tiles which become animal enclosure areas on their personal zoo boards and then add animals to the enclosures. As enclosures are added to boards, new animals are introduced into them and players nurture and raise their offspring. With just two easy action choices each turn of either adding enclosure tiles or animals to their zoo boards, this is an easy game to learn. Although turns are quick, this game is also a puzzle to solve as choosing the right tiles and timing actions for optimum opportunities to gain animals are important. As enclosures fill with animals, players clear the animals from them to earn attraction tiles that help to fill areas of their board that cannot accept more of the larger available tile pieces as the game proceeds. This is important because the first player to completely fill their zoo board with enclosure tiles wins the game. This is a nice, light and beautifully designed game and I highly recommend it for family game night! For 1-5 players, with a 30 to 60-minute playtime. ~ Marsha
Publisher Description:
In New York Zoo, you are designing an animal park. Build enclosures, introduce new animals, and raise their offspring. The first player to cover all the construction spaces on their zoo board with Enclosure Tiles and Attractions wins the game.
Gameplay is straightforward as you have only two options on your turn: build a new enclosure in your zoo, or populate your zoo with more animals. But be sure to time your actions well since you want your zoo to participate in as many animal breedings as possible.
