And so it did: a parachute on one cold, rainy night, spotted by a Dutch kid, Bert, who decides to stage a rescue operation, and ends up getting involved in the resistance movement in the Netherlands during World War II. Aiding his dad and his neighbors, Bert stops a German spy, runs messages, helps two downed pilots, and prays for the resistance. Written by a Dutch immigrant to Canada, the writing is a bit blocky and the punctuation is a little skewed, but the story is solid and enjoyable to read. ~ Mark
