Publisher Description:

In Key to Algebra new algebra concepts are explained in simple language, and examples are easy to follow. Word problems relate algebra to familiar situations, helping students understand abstract concepts. Students develop understanding by solving equations and inequalities intuitively before formal solutions are introduced.

Category Description for Key To Math (Gr. 4-12):

The Key To... series is a very self-instructional, unintimidating, programmed learning series. Covering seven basic topics, students can work through these horizontally or vertically. They are ideal for "homework" or a more topical approach to the subject. Presentation is done in a simple, friendly manner, incrementally, and with examples to follow as needed. Workbooks are thin and consumable. Answer keys are recommended. Order by the book or in sets.

We like this series because it encourages children to tackle these subject areas in as much depth as they can, rather than working strictly within the confines of an age-graded math program. Starting in 4th or 5th grade, I purchased a complete set of student workbooks for each child. Book 1 in each topic was put on the school book shelf. When Key to... was assigned, my children were free to work on whatever topic they chose, and they worked as much as they wanted. As soon as Book 1 in any subject was completed, it was replaced by Book 2. My oldest daughter sometimes got so involved that she just kept going!

My daughters (12 & 13) enjoy this math curriculum as it is easy to understand, the explanations are simple and straight forward. Having 10 small books to complete is mentally less stressful than one giant book

Son struggles with math and is really not grasping algebra. This was recommended by a friend

I have a rising 8th grader who has used Singapore for K-7. She prefers to work independently and I felt the first 4 books of the Algebra Series would be a good summer prep for Algebra 1 to give her a foundation in the fundamentals and practice with the concepts before diving in.

I have used Key Curriculum for several other children and found that it is written in a simple way that is easy for the child to teach himself with no help from me. It made significant improvement of grade level of children who had been functioning below grade level in public school.

I chose the Key To Math Algebra books because I've been using them for 25 yrs and all my children enjoy them. Those who chose to go on to higher education understood algebra well. Those who chose work or tech school understood and enjoyed this curriculum.

I inherited this series from a fellow teacher, and I absolutely love it. This was the only book I was missing. I am so lucky I was able to find it here sold individually.

I chose Key to Algebra books 1-4 to complete the set I have. I have books 4-10, the answers keys and tests to go with books 1-10. The set has great reviews for teaching/learning algebra and I have used the Key series for fractions, percents and decimals and have ordered The Key to Metric Measurement all of which I will use with my tutoring students.
