Product Description:

Two favorite stories by Washington Irving are combined into this single volume. In The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the slightly nave but likable schoolmaster, Ichabod Crane, must face the legend of the Headless Horseman, who is said to linger about Sleepy Hollow. In Rip Van Winkle, a rather lazy man falls asleep in the mountains and awakens twenty years later to find himself in a much changed world.

I'm using the Ambleside Online Homeschool curriculum and this book is part of the free reads assigned. The curriculum so far has been an absolute joy. I purchased the remaining books and look forward to reading them. We are thrilled!

We are studying history between 1550-1850 and I selected period literature to go with that time period. Irving's stories were published in 1820, so these stories will come at the end of our literature reading for the year.
