Category Description for Classical Kids Collections:

The Classical Kids Collection Volume 1 contains the first four titles in the series, and Vol. 2 contains four more.

Category Description for Classical Kids:

Each audio is a unique combination of music, history and dramatic story-telling, designed to both introduce children to the composers and their music. Each story includes at least one child interacting with the composer, helping the younger set to identify with a character and get a better feel for the historical time period. Trials and triumphs of the great composers are experienced. Stories are based on historical fact. Unlike the Music Masters series, which uses a narrator between musical excerpts to tell you about the composer's life, these tapes use actors and dramatization to bring the story alive. Each composer's music is featured throughout the tape, giving children a taste of their best-loved pieces. All have won Parents' choice awards and other musical awards.

Teacher Notes include additional background information, discussion topics, activity ideas and suggestions for exploring the music.

I originally purchased these CDs years ago when I was homeschooling my large family. The stories are engaging. The music has a profound and memorable impact. Now I am thrilled to buy them for my grandchildren. My grown children will be as exciting as I to share these marvelous stories/music with their children. Thank you Rainbow Resource for continuing to carry them! A must have purchase!

I've raised my children with these stories and now want them available for my grandchildren. The cassettes I have are getting tired and need replaced by CD's.

My children adored Classical Kids Volume 1, so we decided we needed volume 2 as well. These are really well done and are a great introduction to composer study.

All but the unicorn story
We so far really, really love these stories. We've enjoyed many times over Bach and Beethoven from the first set, and now are really enjoying Handel (Tchaikovskey next month!). The only one I'm going to actually trash is the unicorn one. It is quite creepy and dark.
