Category Description for Beautiful Feet History & Geography:

Beautiful Feet curriculum takes a multi-level, living book approach to teaching history, geography and world cultures, using easy to use Guides for the teacher and engaging, well-written literature for the student. The Guides provide book lists, chapter readings, discussion and research questions, background information, website links, answer keys, and more. See our website for lists of literature resources to accompany each guide. Most guides provide content for one year of study, with the exception of Geography through Literature and Western Expansion. The latter two are recommended to be completed together for one year of study. Numbers of lessons vary, and are scheduled 1 to 4 days per week. Recommended Timelines, Maps , or a Composition Book maybe available. See individual courses for more details. Timelines are cardstock and include the figures referenced in the study. Students will need to color, cut and assemble the timeline and figures. History and geography come alive with these well done literature guides. See our website for required books for each guide. Some guides and resources contain Christian content while others do not; contact us for additional information.

I wanted a resource that pairs History and Language Arts together and a friend of mine said that all of her children love this curriculum. The price is not too high and most of the books that go along with it are available at our local library!

I think the Beautiful Feet curriculum is truly beautiful and it brings me closer to my kids while studying history. The stories are engaging and we all enjoy them together.

I wanted more of a literature approach to history for my 9th grade son (this used to be billed as 7th-9th grade level), rather than the traditional text book approach. (Plus I already owned most of the required texts! Win!)

I love the programs for beautiful feet. They give me some structure but also allow me to customize the study of history to my child.

Can this be used to meet the high school requirement for world history? Would you add something more?
A shopper on Sep 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello. My son used this last year as an 8th grader. While I think the program is fairly decent, I would definitely add more literature assignments. The title is a bit misleading...while the author does incorporate some literature titles, it is not nearly as literature heavy as some other options. As far as using it for high school, bear in ind that there are no tests (not a major issue) and the writing assignments are not that difficult. All in all, my son did learn a lot using this program. Having said that, after 22 years of homeschooling, my favorite for high school history is Biblioplan, hands-down!
Does this course include an answer key?
Alison C on Oct 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The answers to almost all of the questions are in the back of the book. The ones that need longer explanations (for example essay questions) have the page numbers of the books used as reference.
