Do you need the student workbooks to use this curriculum? Do the Our Star-Spangled Story books work as simple read-alouds?
Elania P on Jun 4, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I would say no, the student workbooks are not necessary. We really like it though. Each page requires minimal time and effort while adding to the learning experience. It's also nice to include a few pages in the portfolio. One workbook covers both Parts 1 and 2. We use the literature books as read-alouds.

Wonderful history book!
I love the illustrations and photos. I also like how it is written at a level where children can understand the events. I appreciate the Christian perspective, as well as the acknowledgement that some actions of the early explorers were not honoring to God. They were able to acknowledge America’s past mistakes, while at the same time, maintaining a positive tone about our country.
