I've always been "geographically-challenged" and after reviewing this attractive map, getting one for my own desk is a must. On one side of this double-sided mat is a large, colorful map of the U.S. which clearly identifies states, capitals, and major cities. Detail for the Canadian and Mexican borders is even provided. On the flipside is a world map which shows countries, capitals, and major cities with enlarged insets of both Europe and the Middle East. BEST ANSWER: I do not recommend this map because we found inaccuracies. Unsurprisingly, there was also no year listed to indicate when it was published but we did buy ours a couple years ago so maybe what they have in stock now has been updated.
Could you use a dry erase marker on these?

BEST ANSWER: You can use a dry erase marker on these. I disagree with the comments saying you can't. I have used dry erase on them before and it worked beautifully. We erase it right after we are done, but I like it.

Facts on Map NOT ACCURATE!
While I love the format of this map, we noticed several errors in terms of the statistics given on the side bar of the map. So it is nice for the map aspect of it, be warned that the stats are way off.

Just Okay
While the maps themselves are excellent the laminating is not and that protective coating is why I purchased them for my 2nd/3rd graders. Some maps have a glossy, crystal clear laminate and others have a matte laminate. In either case, the laminate does not encase the entire map. Each map has one edge that is about 1/16 to 1/8 of exposed paper, rather than being fully encased.

My kids LOVE these maps.
These are awesome tools for students to hold, point at features they find, search for places they have heard of, understand where they live, what a key is, latitude and longitude and more.

Desk Msaps nd crossword puzzles
This is a great map and a real joy. I have it on my kitchen counter and use it every day when I work the crossword puzzle of the day. Almost every day there is an answer on the map to solve a clue.

A MUST HAVE!!!
I bought these last year never using this website before. Customer service was fantastic and I received the maps on time. They are very durable and the students love using them. I like the fact they are pre-laminated so they can handle the wear and tear of students. They were definitely worth my money and one of the best purchases I made for my classroom.
