Category Description for LIFEPAC History & Geography:

Complete, easy-to-use curriculum with minimal teacher planning. LIFEPACs are like small worktexts. With ten per grade level, courses seem less intimidating to children. Moreover, many parents have commented that their children respond better to this mastery-learning approach than more free-form coursework, with better retention and understanding. For those yearning for more hands-on activities, use it as a framework to hang those fun, but supplemental, learning experiences on. Depending on your child's learning style and your lifestyle, LIFEPACs may fill the bill for one or several courses per year. It's easy to implement, easy to administer, easy to grade, and largely self-instructional. Grading is simple and consistent and from a Christian perspective. Complete boxed sets include Teacher's Guides with answer keys. For additional students, choose the LIFEPAC only sets.

I love this series of homeschool books. It keeps my kids interested, Both my kids have become independent learners. I love the way the self tests and book tests are set up. i highly recommend these books. My oldest child used Becca books and we found them less interesting. I used this series on my two youngest who are now 13 and 18 and they really enjoyed the sense of accomplishment they got everyday from these books.

Need a largely self-instructional history program that covers these topics and is appropriate for 6th grade. The price is relatively inexpensive.

I like the life pacs over the online and the with it broken down into 10 booklets is seems more manageable to me and the kids. Having a book you can "see" where you are vs online class.

Does this require much teacher involvement?
Sarah on Mar 9, 2021
BEST ANSWER: If your student is a strong reader - no it would not. My son struggles so we read it together. Sometimes the questions they ask are simply not covered in the text and inspire further research which would be nice if it was noted in advance for the instructor. The teacher manual gives very good ideas for projects the kids can do on their own when they are inspired to go further into a subject. we have enjoyed many of those. Overall the format is a great way for them to learn individual study habits.
Is the faith based?
A shopper on Mar 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is a faith based curriculum. It is easy to teach, easy to grade. I suggest for upper elementary and on to get the teacher guide as well as the workbooks to make it easier to grade. I have used this curriculum for all 4 of my children, one of which is in college now. I really like it and it is very affordable. For large families, keep the guide and reorder the workbooks alone for each child coming up through.
