A list of the included birds is the House Wren, American Goldfinch, Red-Winged Black Bird, Killdeer, House Finch, Great Horned Owl, Blue Jay, American Robin, Northern Cardinal, Mourning Dove, American Crow and the Song Sparrow. Sent this book to one grandchild, and it was so loved that I am sending it to my other grandchildren. The bird sounds are well done and are really compelling for little ones, and our family loves birds and wildlife. The owl sound is the favorite one so far.

What a wonderful idea! Teaching tiny children to identify birds is a wonderful avenue to introduce them to basic science. What you see outside your window leads to a much bigger world. Haven't used this book yet, but am very excited to share it with my little granddaughter.

Do you have to download to listen to the birds or is it prerecorded within the book?

BEST ANSWER: The sound module is part of the book. The sounds are accessed by pressing a picture of the bird on the appropriate page.

This is the best book ever! I would like to own everyone of these. We have had it for a few months, with five children using it. The bird sounds are so real, that one day we were doing it with the window open and pretty soon a house finch came to a branch just outside the window and started trying to talk to the house finch button we were playing. The house finch chatted back-and-forth with our bird book for quite some time! It was hilarious.

Excellent Book
I had reviewed this book 1 or 2 stars because we received a dud. Now I would like to rate about 7 stars or so. Someone on Rainbow Resource saw the rating, reached out to us and sent us a new one without any interaction on our part!

this book is great. My 3 yr. old grandson loved it. I almost want one myself. The bird songs are great. To hear these birds in winter through this book is comforting knowing spring is right around the corner, Lord willing.
