Beginners Bible

I love the short stories, and the colorful illustrations help engage my toddler.

We have been using the Beginner�s Bible in our family studies for about 6 years and we have really enjoyed it The colorful cartoon-like pictures and the simple language of this book make it an ideal first Bible reader for young students (K-3) Also the size of this book and its durable hardcover format make it perfect for little hands While it includes many Bible stories it does skip some stories and details that might be considered too violent for this age group For example the story of Cain and Abel is completely omitted in this book Additionally in the story of David and Goliath the details of the killing of Goliath are omitted�it simply reads �The stone hit Goliath right in his forehead And Goliath fell down� On the pages that discuss the crucifixion the illustrated page shows three shadowed crosses seen from a distance It does say that ��they killed Him on a cross � and that it was a �sad day for Jesus� friends � but it ends that story on a positive note--for on the same page it says that �they would not be sad for long� and that �God had planned a wonderful surprise for them� In the first few pages of this book there is a Table of Contents divided into Old Testament and New Testament stories There is also an index of where to find favorite characters topics and storiesWe have several children�s Bibles in our home and this one by far has been our children�s favorite! They have learned and remembered many basic Bible events by reading this book It is great to use with preschoolers and younger elementary-aged children�it is just right for older siblings to read to their preschool age brothers and sisters The Beginner�s Bible is good for visual learners because of the memorable illustrations and it�s also nice for wiggly children because the stories are short and to the point in language they can understand This book is well worth the price--it's very sturdy delightfully illustrated and includes 95 stories!
