Product Description:

Five subjects conveniently bound into one colossal, full color workbook. Subjects (English, reading comprehension, writing, reading skills [including spelling/vocabulary] and math) are divided into color-coded sections for easy identification. This series covers a great deal of material focusing, of course, on basic skills. These workbooks do not have the breadth or depth that separate programs for individual subjects would have. However, if you're after basic skills mastery in the primary grades, this is a viable, cost-effective option. Teaching suggestions and answer keys included. 540+ pages. ~ Anh

Is this best for a summer AFTER the grade it is over, or BEFORE? Such as after finishing K5 would the Basic Skills K or 1 be the best for summer review?
Lydia M on Mar 29, 2022
BEST ANSWER: I think getting the 1st grade book after K for summer would be best. Depending on your child's level, reviewing the K book might be boring to them. There are probably plenty of things in the 1st grade book your child learned in K as well as new concepts that you can introduce them to. I've used these books in the past as main curriculum books for my kids. I like these better than the other type of multi subject workbooks.
Can I really homeschool my little with these workbooks?
Jennille on Aug 10, 2021
BEST ANSWER: While this book does provide a good quantity of worksheets on all the various topics/skills that are covered in First Grade, it does not "technically" meet our criteria for "curriculum." Instruction is fairly minimal. It does not provide any assessments of testing options. And reinforcement is limited. It is essentially a collection of extra practice worksheets.
Has anyone from a conservative Christian background found anything shady or questionable in the comprehensive curriculum of basic skills books? Such as the story sections?
A shopper on Jun 1, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I am a Christian but like secular workbooks and such. I have never found anything questionable in these workbooks. I love these workbooks and have used them for years.
