Product Description:
A new adventure awaits you and your friends as you disembark from the ship on which you have spent many days sailing upon restless waters. Yesterday, your sailing party spied an undiscovered island and decided to drop anchor and explore this uncharted land. Will you find precious stones, dig for ancient tablets and arrowheads, or research and record your finds? You will be able to experience all of these things and more while you play Lost Ruins of Arnak. This game is a delightful combination of deck building and worker placement, which means that as you add cards to your starting deck, your gameplay becomes more varied with new rewards and actions added to each round. These cards will also allow you to accumulate game points, which are vital to winning this game. Placing your workers each round in different areas of the game board – including the research track, completing a new dig or gaining resources will allow you to accumulate additional points as well as purchase cards and visit additional dig sites. Manage each turn and resource optimally to gain the most points possible each round. There are five rounds in each game, so there is ample time to plan strategies and use all available resources as your card deck continues to build round-by-round. The game ends when all players have taken every possible action on the final round. The player with the most points wins! I highly recommend this beautiful, engaging gaming experience! ~ Marsha
Publisher Description:
On an uninhabited island in uncharted seas, explorers have found traces of a great civilization. Now you will lead an expedition to explore the island, find lost artifacts, and face fearsome guardians, all in a quest to learn the island's secrets.
Lost Ruins of Arnak combines deck building and worker placement in a game of exploration, resource management, and discovery:
* In addition to traditional deckbuilder effects, cards can also be used to place workers.
* New worker actions become available as players explore the island.
* Some actions require resources instead of workers -- building a solid resource base will be essential.
* Limited to one action per turn, players must decide which action will benefit them the most.
* Decks are small, and randomness is heavily mitigated by the wealth of tactical decisions offered on the game board.
* With a variety of worker actions, artifacts, and equipment cards, the setup for each game will be unique, encouraging players to explore new strategies to meet the challenge.

I shall let you wonder how he does it, but I will give you some clues. On Peace of God’s ship there are canons, 32 round shot, and powder. Along with the ship’s crew there is a fighting crew. Upon angering the British, Peace of God Manly is attacked by a man named Sir Benjamin Meadows and his ship is destroyed. An Irish fisherman by the name of Reagan spots the wreckage; he along with some friends rescue Peace of God and a couple shipmates. The British search the town in which they had heard Peace of God was hiding in, but they never found them because the town’s people were “old hands” at hiding people.
I love how descriptive Sea Captain from Salem is. It naturally gets the reader into the book. For me I got so into the book that sometimes I could feel the spray of water and the cold wind at my back. When I read the book I could almost feel the characters emotions. I also appreciated the level of reading the book had; it wasn’t too easy or full of ginormous words, but it was enough to where I had to pay attention. Here is a side note; you don’t have to read the entire series to enjoy the book. I would definitely recommend this book to other teens.
