God’s Great Covenant New Testament 2 Program components include a Student Textbook, Teacher Guide, Timeline and Map Set, and Audio Files. This program engages students and parents alike as the book of Acts is narrated in an understandable and enjoyable way. A short introduction reminds us how important it is to be grounded in our faith and ready to defend it.

Thirty-two weekly chapters are divided into five units: Our mission to proclaim God’s gospel to the world; The Holy Spirit empowering and guiding us as we take the gospel to the world; God’s word telling us who we are and where we are going; Our enemy that comes from within our hearts and from outside the Church; and the need to be properly prepared for spreading the gospel.

The beginning of each chapter in the Student Worktext has the lesson theme, key facts about the chapter, the memory passage, and Old Testament scripture revealing how it is relevant to the New Testament lesson. Then there is a short story followed by review worksheets that contain various activities like map exercises, matching, filling in the blanks, unscrambling, and more. At the end of each unit there is a devotion and short script dialogue between a grandpa and his grandkids about important Bible topics. A Memory Passage Worksheet includes questions about the memory verse for the unit. The back of the book includes appendices, chapter quizzes, and maps. The Teacher Guide has a reduced copy of the student text with additional notes further elaborating on the historical, geographical, cultural, and theological concepts of the text. Answers to the review worksheets are also included. The Audio Files contain the readings in the student text. New Testament Timeline corresponds to the New Testament Books 1 and 2 and includes a double-sided timeline in four separate panels with all events and images on one side and a blank timeline on the other side. Timeline pieces can be cut out and taped or glued onto the blank side. There are also sixteen full-color maps measuring 13” x 19” that include the cities of Galilee, Palestine; the Roman Empire and provinces; Christ's travels outside of Galilee; the missionary journeys of Paul, Peter, and Philip; and much more. ~ Gina

Publisher's Description of God's Great Covenant New Testament 2 Program

The Bible tells us God’s story. It has many parts, but from beginning to end, it is one story with a promise throughout: “I will be your God, and you will be My people.” Through this story, we learn who God is, who mankind is, how the world came to be, and how God worked through history to bring redemption to His people. The God’s Great Covenant series will narrate this story for your student in an engaging and unique way.

The four Gospels reveal that Jesus is the Messiah and King, God’s Servant, the Son of God, and the Son of Man. The book of Acts, written by Luke, shows us that the ministry of Jesus Christ has continued and even grown after His resurrection and His ascension into heaven. God’s Great Covenant New Testament 2: Acts presents this adventure as the mission of the Church given by Jesus, guided by the Holy Spirit, and directed by the “map” of God’s Word. As the Gospels continue, students will see that the early Church had to face internal and external enemies and to be properly equipped to spread the gospel. Students will find the book of Acts an ancient adventure that continues today and can be embodied in their own lives.

Each week students will encounter the story of that week’s Bible verses, presented at a clear, elementary reading level. Every chapter contains a memory page that includes a Bible verse, key facts chart, and a segment titled "The Old Testament in the New Testament Revealed," which encourages students and parents to discuss crossovers from Old Testament scriptures. "Unpack It Further" sections prompt students to think critically about the lesson and answer thought-provoking questions. Unit reviews contain a memory passage worksheet, a devotional guide, and a fun Truth Detectives dialogue.
  • God's Great Covenant New Testament 2 Teacher's Edition The teacher's book contains all of the student edition content, as well as answer keys for the worksheets and quizzes. The teacher's edition also incorporates additional facts and information to expand on the historical, geographical, cultural, and theological concepts introduced in the student edition.

Category Description for God's Great Covenant: A Bible Course for Children

God's Great Covenant Bible curriculum uses stories found in the Bible to reveal the faithfulness of God to elementary students. There are four titles in the series, two on the Old Testament and two on the New Testament. Each course is designed to take one year to complete at the elementary level. Bible excerpts are taken from the NIV version.

Components include the Teacher's Edition, which offers teacher's notes and answers, and the consumable (non-reproducible) Student Book. Numerous supplements are available to enrich these Biblical studies. These are optional, but available to help your family be successful in the study of God's Word.

MP 3 Audio Files are available for this series. They cover the Old Testament and New Testament and contain all the text readings found in the Student Books. Each audio file is engagingly presented by Dr. Christopher Perrin. Below are the run times of each set of each audio file: 

  • Old Testament 1: 2 hours, 8 minutes
  • Old Testament 2: 2 hours, 53 minutes 
  • New Testament 1: 3 hours, 42 minutes
  • New Testament 2: 4 hours, 59 minutes

God's Great Covenant Audio Storybook features over 15 hours of narrative from God's Great Covenant Old Testament 1 and 2 and God's Great Covenant New Testament 1 and 2. The Old Testament Timeline and Map Set corresponds to the Old Testament Books 1 and 2 and includes a quality timeline of OT events and six maps. Full color, semi-glossy cardstock maps measure 13"x 19".
