First Little Comics (Scholastic)

Emerging readers need practice, meaning they need to read the same little readers again, and again. Each boxed set has 20 colorful little books. The images are well-done and uncluttered. These are great for a student who struggles with phonics and needs pictures to cement words to their long-term memory. Not phonics based, these work on repetition: See my pet rock.
