Carefree Capsules
Gorgeous, modern décor from a homeschool supplier? Uh, yea! If you love macrame and neutrals, you need some glass planters like these. Into the jungle-bungalow look? You need at least 3 of them for your plant companions. I love that all supplies are included from the soil to the seeds. Succulents only need to be watered once a month, so be careful to properly neglect your capsules in between. They will croak should you over-water them. Or, try out some other house plants in your capsule. You may want to choose a richer soil if going with this option (regular potting soil would be fine for most plants). The capsules can hang from the formed glass loop at the top, sit vertically on a surface (flat bottom) or you could carefully plant them on the side and have the plant grow out of the hole (no flat side for this option). The hole is an oval about 2” x 3”. Looking for super low maintenance, get yourself some air plants and place them in here without any soil at all. (We do not sell these by the way, just sharing an idea.) All of us in the office want to hang one over our desks now. Document the seeds growth and make them part of your science lesson, but please, do not over water! Superb Succulent seeds include a variety of agaves and yuccas, ponytail palm and blue Mexican sotol. Stunning Sedum seeds include sempervivum tectorum (star plants). ~Sara
