Students start with a quick review of capitalization, punctuation, and sentence structure, then move to grammar (parts of speech, and usage), with a focus on writing style. Throughout these chapters “Writer’s Corner” assignments (with brief explanations, and detailed steps to plan, write, rewrite, and edit) will cover description, limerick, cinquain, string-a-long stories (created by adding words to each sentence), personal narratives, and more. The composition section reviews the writing process, then guides students in writing summaries, book reports, outlining, and research papers. Includes a grammar and diagramming handbook, documentation appendix, and index. The course requires the consumable student text and the spiral bound teacher key (full student text with answers and full Grammar Handbook).
