Most recognized for her children's book The Door in the Wall, I did not realize that Marguerite de Angeli also wrote this charming series about Amish children from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Each book tells of events in the daily life of young Amish boy or girl and their adventures, accomplishments, and foibles. The books are beautifully illustrated with detailed black-and-white drawings as well as full-color illustrations.
