Star Wars Radio Dramas

Gather everyone around the CD player! Now you can relive the journeys of our hero Luke Skywalker, the resourceful smuggler Han Solo, his fiercely loyal First Mate Chewbacca, the stalwart Princess Leia Organa, the perpetually fussy yet proper protocol droid C-3PO and everyone's favorite astrogation and repair droid R2-D2. Join them in their epic galaxy-spanning adventures in the form of an incredible compilation of radio plays. Produced by National Public Radio in 1981, 1983 and 1996, these disc collections also include scores of additional scenes that add to the story, providing a bit more backstory and insight into the nuances of the original Star Wars universe. (For culinary fans, renowned chef and critic Craig Claiborne provides a recipe for Root Leaf Stew, served to Luke by Yoda in the Empire Strikes Back Collection). The voice talent is some of the best I've heard, and each actor brings a sense of excitement to his role, making it easy to get swept up in every scene. Mark Hamill (who was available for Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back) and Anthony Daniels reprised their roles as Luke and C-3PO respectively, and lent the same enthusiasm to this production as they did to the movie trilogy. John William's expert score is also woven into the collection and is used to perfectly enhance the already well written dialog. As an avid fan of radio plays, as well as Star Wars as a whole, these are a pleasant surprise and some that I'll certainly want to add to my collection. Each disc collection is presented in MP3 format on CD. ~ Nick
