From the award-winning author and illustrator Torben Kuhlmann comes a charming series about inventive mice and their adventures. The sepia-toned illustrations are enthralling and adorable with impressive consistency in style and attention to detail. Each story follows a brave mouse or pair of mice as they use science and engineering to solve problems, find answers, and go on exciting adventures. These books have a lovely blend of text accompanied by small illustrations, full-page illustrations, and magnificent full-spread illustrations. A few pages at the end of each book explore the real history of scientific advancements mentioned in the story. Each book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone story, but the later books make minor references to the earlier ones. The order of the series is Lindbergh: Tale of the Flying Mouse, Armstrong: Adventurous Journey of a Mouse to the Moon, and Edison: Mystery of the Missing Mouse Treasure.
These books would be great for reading aloud to kids, and because the pictures tell much of the story, young children who have already heard the story can enjoy flipping through the gorgeous pictures on their own time and time again. These beautiful large-format books (8.75” x 11.25”) come in high-quality hardcover and are each around 100 pages. ~Rachel E.
