SnapWords Math Vocabulary
Looking for a fun, effective way to help your child understand their pesky math vocabulary? Understanding even and odd numbers, area, prime numbers, fractions, mixed numbers, and geometry terms can be hard for some students to grasp. If that describes your learner, check out these unique math vocabulary cards. Cards are 2 sided, with the word and a visual “word picture” illustration on one side and the definition, a reinforcing motion or movement on the back to reinforce the word. Sound complicated? Honestly, it is pretty sweet. Here’s an example: the word remainder shows a simple math problem in number and picture on the front, and on the back the motion relates to the example from the front of the card; “hold up all five fingers and split them, leaving your thumb sticking out alone.” There is also scripted language to say to teach the word and the definition on the back of the card. SnapWords Math Vocabulary Cards can be used with any math program. Three sets are available, with vocabulary words in increasing difficulty. Each set offers 63 full-color, laminated cards that measure 5.5” x 4.25”.
