Answers Bible Curriculum (Homeshool)

Description

Teaching the whole counsel of God's Word through Answers in Genesis 7 C's of History, students study God's trustworthiness, attributes, and plan of salvation, while learning to apply biblical truth in their lives. Using age-appropriate lessons, children are also equipped to defend their beliefs. Still in development, there are 3 years available in this chronological 4-year journey through the Bible. Topically, Year 1 begins with creation and concludes with the life of Joseph. Year 2 follows the nation of Israel as the Hebrew people emerged from Egypt. Year 3 traces the history of Israel's remnant through the captivity until the Promised Messiah. Jesus’ authority, miracles, and teaching are studied. Year 4 focuses on the final year of Jesus' ministry and the growth of the church, ending with the promise of the restoration of all things. The ESV Bible is utilized.

Written for homeschool families, Answers Bible Curriculum's goal is for families to study the Scriptures together. Beginning with the all-in-one Teacher Guide, parents have everything they need to teach from kindergarten through grade 5. Let's look more into the valuable Teacher Guide. The introduction provides a course description, details regarding curriculum components, and how to use the curriculum. It then provides an overview of the Student Workbook and flexible elements. Grading tips, optional resources, extension ideas and a suggested schedule are also included. Lessons are divided into 36 weeks, at a pace of three days per week for each lesson. Teaching time varies from 25-45 minutes per week, with independent student activity pages scheduled (younger children may require assistance with the student pages). For each lesson, there are lesson summaries, key passages, teaching lesson information, and comprehension questions with answers. The comprehension questions are adaptations of the student workbook questions. Also included in the Teacher Guide are recommended memory verses, memory verse games and lesson review games. Purchase of the Teacher Guide combo also includes access to Building Blocks video lessons and memory songs on the publisher's website, and related teaching posters Teacher Guides and Posters are also sold separately. See individual descriptions for more information.

Consumable, colorfully illustrated Student Workbooks include lesson overviews, various activities, study notes, and review questions. Available in levels, each Workbook provides age-appropriate activities that encompass two grade-levels, which allows for natural flexibility in pacing. See individual level workbooks for more information. Answers are found in the corresponding Test and Answers books. These resources are softcover and 3-hole punched. Reproducible for purchasing family or single classroom use.

The Consumable Tests & Answers Book includes 6 quizzes and 2 tests. Quizzes are taken every five lessons, with a test at the end of each semester. Quiz and Test answers are included, as are all Student Workbook answers. Pages are perforated and 3-hold punched for ease of use. Reproducible for purchasing family or single classroom use. ~Deanne
