Parents, some of the action might be a little violent for your preferences. For example, in Shark Bait, Sam is captured by parrot smugglers who later shoot at him as he makes an escape and one of the smugglers is even killed by a cassowary. Also, there is a little bit of misinformation about some of the animals in the books, but these are otherwise a very energetic read.
