Rarely has a title so aptly named a product. Classical studies typically pay less attention to American history, preferring its study to be integrated into world history. Accordingly, this series – coordinated with Memoria Press’ one-volume reprinting of the Guerber classics, Story of the Thirteen Colonies and the Great Republic and Story of the World Volume 4 – provide exactly the amount of coverage one would expect: read a good story and get the facts down. The 200 questions – printed with little flair in the Student Book - include drill questions (names, events, places, and causes), timeline (supply the dates), notable quotes (who said it?), and presidents (supply president’s name, dates in office, and a notable event). Also included are several poems typically associated with American History. Previously, this guide was coordinated with the Everything You Need to Know About American History Homework , which has gone out of print. There are a few facts, dates, and quotes that are not included in the Story of the Thirteen Colonies and the Great Republic and Story of the World Vol. 4 . Answers are easily found in other resources and represent important aspects of American history for children to know.
The Teacher Guide provides the recommended texts and weekly schedule, teaching guidelines, the answer key for the student book, six tests and a history final plus the test answer keys. Janice/Deanne
