Description

Inspired by a true story known as the 1888 School Children’s Blizzard in Nebraska. Anna was 12 at the time. She is not keen on her schoolwork and would rather spend time with her pony out on the prairie and helping her family with chores. One winter, a blizzard strikes while the children are in their one room schoolhouse. During this crisis, Anna steps up to lead her classmates to safety before it’s too late. An author’s note provides additional reading about prairie life during this period and the real blizzard. ~Sara
