This expansion introduces nectar, which is a special type of food that has three main functions. It serves as a unique bird food requirement for some new bird cards, as a “wild" food type that can be spent 1:1 in place of any other food, and as a commodity to spend to get extra eggs, cards, and food dice in each of the habitat rows. It also adds a new scoring element, as spent nectar will accumulate in the rows it is used in, granting players who spent the most nectar in each row bonus points at game end. New player mats have been updated to reflect the addition of nectar, and also have different “spend a food/card/egg" functions in card slots; the major one being the ability to spend an item to refresh the card and dice trays in certain slots. Additionally, this expansion brings in birds that have yellow “game end" activations, which bestow special bonus actions or points right before game end scoring. Best of all, the expansion includes 95 new bird cards from the Oceanic region, 5 new bonus cards, and 4 new goal tiles for even more variety in your ‘Spanning! Other new components include 15 yellow eggs, 5 food dice with nectar sides, 69 nectar tokens, 5 player mats, a scorecard, rulebook, and a quick play reference tile.

In this second expansion to Wingspan, we feature the colorful and awe-inspiring birds of Oceania. The Oceania bird cards are designed to be shuffled into the bird cards from the base game, with or without other expansions.
This expansion includes new player mats and a new food type, allowing players to explore different strategies in this new environment. It also includes new bonus cards and more end-of-round goals, as well as a new color of egg.
Welcome to the world of Wingspan! Published in 2019, this game is available in 27 languages, has tens of thousands of board game enthusiasts and continues to be a favorite with our family and friends. Compete to build an aviary with colorful birds earning points based on the bird cards you choose to place on your player board along with their effects and bonuses. The base game featured mostly birds from North America. In the same year, the European expansion was released; adding 81 new bird cards, purple eggs and added goals. The Oceania expansion debuted in 2020, with the most significant additions being 95 new bird cards and the introduction of a wild food type called nectar. In 2022, Wingspan Asia was published as a stand-alone two-person version of the game with several options for play: including adding cards from Wingspan and its expansions to Asia or just using the cards from Asia with the standard version of Wingspan for multiple players. Be sure to look at the natural rubber playmat replacements with two-sides, which work with the original rules and new rules, including nectar with the release of Oceania.
