Description

Designed for students who have an interest in pursuing further studies in any of the physical sciences at the college level. While this may also be accomplished by enrolling in the full version of Conceptual Chemistry, this course omits many of the topics of chemistry, such as agriculture, so that the student has more time to focus on challenging concepts, such as atomic orbitals and stoichiometry. Although less comprehensive than our honors chemistry course, it does fulfill a full 1.0 high school science credit. Topically, it covers particles of matter, elements of chemistry, atomic bonding, chemistry of solutions, chemical reactions, acids/bases and redox, and organic and biochemistry.

Publisher's Description of Conceptual Chemistry, College Prep One Year Self-Study Online Course (6th Edition)

This self-study course is designed for students who have an interest in pursuing further studies in any of the physical sciences at the college level and beyond. While this may also be accomplished by enrolling the full version of Conceptual Chemistry, this course omits many of the topics of chemistry, such as agriculture, so that the student has more time to focus on challenging concepts, such as atomic orbitals and stoichiometry. To make for a solid foundation, fewer topics are given in each class to allow for more in-depth study, which should include more end-of-chapter exercises and problems. This course works well as a preparation for college general chemistry, but only when the student also has strong math skills. To learn more about this course, please review its users manual.
