Description

Create an old-fashioned 3-digit mechanical counter with this certified STEM project kit. Long ago, these counters were used to keep track of people present at amusement parks or movie theaters. When finished, the counter model functions the same way the originals would have: use the click button to rotate the motors and change the numbers. This set comes with everything you need for your no-glue-required project. Pieces come pre-cut in the wooden boards, ready for you to snap together. The finished model measures about 5.3” x 2.6” x 4.8” and can be painted using thin paints or watercolors for an even bolder effect. This is an easy-level project with 157 pieces and an assembly time of about two hours. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

Publisher's Description of Ugears 3D Wooden Mechanical Model Counter

Create for yourself an engineering marvel with the UGears STEM LAB Counter. This device counts repeated actions with a click button and cylindrical numbered gears. You might see someone using a device like this at the gates of an amusement park or the entryway of a theater to count the number of people entering. This kind of 3-digit mechanical counter is also a crucial part of the modern odometer, found in every car. However, with this home-built model Counter, the limit to its uses is within your imagination.

It is easy to build this model right out of the box. Since the details are already pre-cut, you can simply press them out of the board without any sharp-cutting knives. No glue is necessary either. If you would like to personalize your Counter, you can paint the wood and add extra creative fun to assembling the device. Everything you need comes in the box, so no additional trips to the hardware or craft store are necessary. Putting together the UGears STEM LAB Counter and learning about its engineering could not be easier.
