A neat and creative way for students to get a hands-on learning experience with robot building, programming, and physics. This robot kit features a balancing robot that can take on different forms. In the included instruction manual, the user will learn how to make 8 different robotic forms (each labeled with difficulty level) with step-by-step illustrations. In addition to the instructions in the book, each build also features a QR code for digital instructions. Throughout the manual, each build highlights an example of a similar machine that is used in the real world. Each of the build variations use a balancing technology, very similar to that of hoverboards and motorized balance scooters. The construction of the robots is simple with interlocking plastic pieces. This kit would make a great beginner kit for an introduction to robotics class or course.
Once the desired robot form is constructed, the robot can be controlled by a Bluetooth program through a downloadable app. Using a tablet or smartphone, scan the QR code in the instruction manual to find the required apps. The apps are free and compatible with both iOS and Android. The instruction manual shows how to use the app for each of the builds. In order to operate, a Phillips screwdriver will be needed and the motor requires 6 AA batteries, batteries and screwdriver not included. Includes 227 pieces, with a 60-page pb manual. ~ Brianna
