One-semester course from Starline includes 6 units (consumable booklets). Each unit contains reading content, questions to answer, and a review section followed by a test over that one unit. Studies the role of government, the international trade policy, poverty, privatization, economic expansion, and industrial growth. Students learn about economic opportunities including small businesses, franchising, chain stores, the sole proprietor, and business partnerships.
Other topics include stock exchanges, buying stock on
margin, commodities futures, market dynamics, Black Monday, watchdog agencies,
the Federal Reserve, taxation, inflation, savings, and budget imbalances.
Students will also study the American dollar and the world economy and develop
a financial plan and a money management checklist.
Pairs well with the Starline Press Government semester course for a full high school credit.
