Description

Number sense may be an unfamiliar term, but the understanding of numbers and the quantities they represent provides a strong foundation for mastering math concepts at the upper level. At any age, if a child is struggling to master basic math facts, he or she may instead be showing a weak foundation in number sense. Following the Right Start Math philosophy, this kit offers 50 lessons that will teach number sense through addition and subtraction to four-digits. Each lesson concludes with a game to practice the concept. The kit contains the RightStart Tutoring Number Sense book, AL Abacus, Place Value cards, Base-10 cards, Math Balance, Basic Number Card Deck, and the Corners™ Card Deck. Users will also need to provide a pencil and paper, or dry erase board and marker. Available separately, the Right Start Tutoring Number Sense book is available for families who own the required manipulatives and game cards. If you are currently using Right Start Math, the lesson activities and games will be familiar as the lessons have been compiled from the Right Start Math Card Games (5th edition) and Levels A, B and C of the math program.
