Students will review special sounds from Abeka’s Phonics Charts 6-13 and practice reading orally and silently. The small format student reader includes Think About It! answers. Additional teacher support is included in the side margins. Weekly, students work on reading accuracy, enunciation, comprehension, and other reading skills, as well as analysis of main characters, plot, morals, setting, climax, summary, and more. Students will begin reading silently prior to reading aloud. While reading realistic, folk, biographical, and historical fiction and informative pieces, students will learn about title, author, main character, plot, moral of story, setting, fiction, and nonfiction.
