Description

Discover the treasures in a nearby shallow lagoon, where many a ship has miscalculated its depth and danger only to be dashed to pieces and spill its rewards along the bottom. Will you lead the team of divers to collect the most valuable rewards and enrich yourself in the process, or will you dive solo with a different set of rules?  Put on your diving suit and find out!

This game uses dice drafting and worker placement in a unique way to determine where players can collect treasures each turn. You will choose to place a worker on the game board either on the beach or at a wreck site. The beach rewards players with seashells and the wreck sites provide treasure tiles of four different types. Each round, the dice pool is re-rolled to provide the choices players have as they draft a die each turn. The numerical values match locations on the beach and at wreck sites that contain different resources to collect.

Collect tiles and treasures and use them to complete the following goals for points: 1) Build displays on player boards in patterns that allow players to collect exhibit cards, 2) place tiles in their vaults, or 3) turn in shell treasures to build aquariums. The game ends when any player has collected the number of exhibit cards needed (determined by the player count). Each player adds the point values of each of the three goals and the person with the most points wins!  For 1-5 players with 45-minute playtime.

In my playthroughs of this game, I came away with the impression that this is a perfect game for families. The younger family members might really enjoy competing for the cards and dice needed to dive for the treasures they seek, or competing to grab the spot on the beach with the shells they need to build the best aquariums. There is also enough strategy and variety to hold the interest of older family members as well. ~ Marsha
