Publisher's Description of Complete Introduction to Earth & Space Lab Kit (Grades 3-5)
The Complete Introduction to Earth & Space kit for grades 3-5 offers young scientists a comprehensive exploration of our planet and beyond through 17 engaging hands-on activities. With a detailed 50-page full-color manual and all necessary supplies, students investigate fascinating topics including weather patterns, seasonal changes, astronomical phenomena, environmental science, and geological formations. Students conduct experiments to understand Earth's tilt, cave formations, the water cycle, and local weather patterns while developing authentic scientific observation skills. The kit helps children answer fundamental questions about our world, from understanding moon phases to discovering how ocean currents work and exploring the unique properties of rocks and minerals.
These impressive kits introduce the basics of earth and
space science without a textbook! Guided by the detailed full-color manual
(46-50 pgs.), students will discover essential topics through hands-on
activities and experiments. These guides are quite helpful as they introduce
and explain the topics being studied, give step-by step instructions to the
activities, ask related questions to analyze results, and provide a “what
happened” explanation after the activity. While there is space to answer questions,
middle school students may benefit from creating a student notebook. A Sketch
Notebook is included in the Grade 9+ Kit. Along with the guide, each kit
includes most supplies to complete the activities. A few household items are
required.
