Description

Sometimes, during math instruction, our students seem to hit a wall. They cannot move forward because something is weak in their math foundation. It happens for a variety of reasons, but your 5th grader doesn’t have to repeat 3rd grade math to improve these skills. This is the time for a FIXER PRODUCT! I love a good fixer product! They save you time and save your student from being discouraged. You have 59 days of lessons, or roughly 12 weeks of daily work followed by a game for practice time. Games are not optional here but rather part of the lesson. You will need manipulatives. If you are not already using RightStart as your math program, you will need this set which includes the following manipulatives: an AL Abacus, Math Balance, Basic Number Card Deck, Multiplication Card Deck, and Multiplication Card Envelopes. You can use this kit with any math program as a fixer. Daily lessons are laid out in a clear fashion and scripted for the teacher. ~Sara

Publisher's Description of RightStart Tutoring Multiplication and Division Book One Kit

The RightStart Tutoring Kit includes: RightStart Tutoring Multiplication and Division Book One manual; AL Abacus; Math Balance; Basic Number Card Deck; Multiplication Card Deck; Multiplication Card Envelopes

This RightStart Tutoring Multiplication and Division Book One manual is about understanding multiplication and division and becoming confident with the basic facts. It is intended for those who have a weak or incomplete grasp of multiplication and division and who are behind their peers.

All too often, the multiplication facts are taught by rote, often an overwhelming task, especially when 6 and 3 was learned as 9, but now is 18. However, we now know that a deep understanding of concepts removes anxiety, lessens the burden of memorizing, makes advanced math easier to grasp, and makes math more enjoyable.

The RightStart Tutoring Multiplication and Division Book One manual teaches multiplication from 1 × 1 to 10 × 10 including division with remainders. These lessons will approach multiplication and division with a new perspective that follows the RightStart Mathematics approach and philosophy. Lessons do not use worksheets, but instead use card games to practice and apply the newly learned information.
